Hi, I’m Carly.
I am a licensed clinical social worker who provides individual therapy through telehealth to children, teenagers, and adults residing in California.
I have experience working with people who struggle with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, perinatal mood disorders, personality disorders, addiction, suicidal ideation and self-harm, low self-esteem, relationship issues, family conflict, grief and loss, and other life transitions or stressors. I strive to provide care that is anti-racist, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and inclusive of neurodiversity.
If you are curious at all to learn more about my professional background or what led me to become a therapist.
What to expect in our sessions
Therapeutic Approach
My work with clients is rooted in narrative therapy, where we explore the stories you tell about yourself and how those stories shape your identity, relationships, and choices. We'll work to identify and challenge the internal and external “problems” in your story, especially those related to social justice, intersectionality, or systemic inequalities. Together we will coauthor a new, more hopeful story that centers personal resilience, valued relationships, and treasured aspects of your history and culture. I practice with a harm reduction lens when addressing unhealthy behaviors, and, rather than focusing on abstinence, we will collaborate on safety planning and learning healthier coping strategies.
Communication Style
I always try to bring a warm and authentic tone to my sessions, balancing professionalism with approachability. I strive to create a space where you feel validated and empowered to explore your experiences without judgment. Working with me feels like a partnership—where we dive deep into your story, untangle the threads of who you are, and create new possibilities for your life.
Goal Setting
Goal setting with clients is a collaborative process where we explore what matters most to you— whether it's healing, growth, coping, or understanding the patterns in your life. I focus on helping you connect with your values and desires, rather than just solving problems, so that goals are meaningful and aligned with your sense of self. We'll also consider the broader social, cultural, and systemic factors that may be influencing your experience and work to create goals that challenge those external pressures.
Our First Session
In our first session, you can expect an open and nonjudgmental space where we'll get to know each other, and I'll learn more about your story, struggles, and hopes. We'll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and start to explore the larger narrative of your life, including any specific issues or challenges you want to address. It's also a chance for you to get a sense of how I work and ask any questions you might have about the process. I am always more than happy to provide referrals to other therapists who may fit your preferences and needs better.
Let's connect
Interested in scheduling a free 15 minute introductory phone call to explore starting therapy? Please fill out the following form and I will get back to you within 2-3 business days.
Please note that I currently accept the following insurance plans: Aetna, Carelon, Cigna, Decent, Kaiser Permanente (Southern CA), and MHN. A verification of your benefits will be run before our first therapy session together to provide you a full picture of your out-of-pocket costs. I am credentialed through both Rula and Alma, and the platform we use for therapy together will depend on your specific insurance plan.
If you do not see your insurance plan listed or do not wish to utilize insurance to pay for therapy, my current rates are $150 for 55 minute individual therapy sessions and $200 for 55 minute family therapy sessions. I strongly believe that therapy should be accessible to all, and I reserve a portion of my caseload for clients who need to pay on a sliding scale.
I charge my full session fee for missed sessions with no notice or less than 48 hours notice.
